# PAI Physical Action Gateway

PAI gives AI agents and software platforms one stable execution contract for real-world work.

The problem is not merely finding or booking a service. Physical actions create irreversible side effects: a print run, pickup, delivery, purchase, inspection or handover can cost money or move objects. PAI therefore separates quote, authorization and exactly-once commitment, then tracks execution, evidence, verification and closure.

## Why use it

PAI is useful when:
- an AI agent must cause physical work;
- retries must not duplicate that work;
- explicit authority is needed before commitment;
- proof of completion must be structured;
- the underlying executor may change without changing requester semantics.

PAI is not intended to replace A2A, MCP, UCP/USP, payment providers or marketplaces. It is the physical execution-control layer between digital intent and the executor.

## Current status

The hosted lifecycle is implemented and the internal self-test has completed through settled. Ten reference capabilities exist. External executor substitution and paid market validation remain pending, so no production-readiness or validated-pricing claim is made.
